I ran across the above quote and wondered if it could possibly be true. That sounds like something Judge Roy Bean would have done.

It seems a legitimate news item. Fellow's name is Daniel Horne of Llanharry, Glamorgan, Wales, UK.

I also saw it on the "This Is True" website. It seems utterly absurd on its surface. There must be more to it than what's been reported.

The Metro is a reasonably well-respected "free sheet" and I am sure they would have verified the item. But there will have been more to know than has been reported and I am sorry I can't remember having seen the follow-up.

The item is over two months old now, so it might not surface again.

Thanks for the link, zmježd. It looks like the cop was practicing a little CYA, but I think it's going to turn around and bite him in the ass. I hope I hear the outcome.
