Tomorrow's my birthday and Shu wrote this poem for me, based on an Ogden Nash poem. He gave me permission to post it here. I hope you'll enjoy it. I love it!

Lots of people are richer than me,
And yet pay slenderer taxes;
Their annual levy consistently wanes
While their annual income waxes.
Lots of folks have financial means
To woo with extravagancy;
I hope to retire on a wing and a prayer —
But nobody else has Nancy.

Lots of people are stronger than me,
And greater athletic menaces;
They poise like gods on diving boards
And win their golfs and tennises.
Their dancing is smooth as Fred Astaire's
With his graceful elegancy,
While I was born with galoshes on —
But nobody else has Nancy.

Lots of people are wiser than me,
And carry within their cranium
The implications of Stein and Joyce
And the properties of uranium.
They know the mileage to every star
And the meaning of pococurante;
I’m inclined to believe that the world is flat —
But nobody else has Nancy.

Speaking of wisdom and wealth and grace,
As recently I have dared to,
There are lots of people compared to whom
I’d rather not be compared to.
There are people I ought to wish I was;
But swap wouldn't suit my fancy.
I prefer to continue my life as me —
For nobody else has Nancy.

Sounds like a ménage a trois between you, Shu and Nancy.

Thanks, Bethree. Of course this one was based on an Ogden Nash poem. However, once he wrote, from scratch, a lovely poem to me for Valentine's Day.
