Love Poems
Well, with V-day coming closer, several of the comics in today's paper had V-day themes. My favorite was Sally Forth because of the contrast between his initial remarks about what he's looking for and his excitement over finding a card with a limerick.

What kind of poem will you share with your sig other to show your love?

Sadly there is an invalid assumption implicit in the question. Frown

You don't need to have a lover to have people that you love. I write poems for my parents, assorted friends, colleagues, etc. You don't?

Sure, but I don't think any of them would be suitable for a Valentines poem, which on my, admittedly limited, understanding is for "significant others".

Incidentally did you see this?

On St. Val's day, my thoughts are of you
And the love that we have that's so true.
You're the one that I love
Up to Heaven above ---
Enough of this crap. Come, let's screw.

A Saint Valentine’s Day Poem

I’d like to write a poem
Of a love that’s deep and true,
That’s brighter than the sunshine
And fresher than the dew,
That lasting for eternity
Begins each day anew,
Adds music to the sounds of life
And grandeur to the view –
And the only thing that’s missing
Is someone to send it to.

And you know the saddest thing of all? Garrison Keeler is running a competition for poems to be read out on his show that week but they have to be poems specifically written TO someone real.

Oh, Bob. Send it anyway. You never know. I love it.

I can write limericks and double dactyls, but I have trouble with writing other poetry. I suppose it's just not having the experience. I'd much rather read others' poems.
