I just came across an interesting not-so-new book: Brave New Words:The Oxford Dictionary of Science Fiction.
I'm finding it very interesting, especially the fan-created words.
Actifan - someone who is really involve in the fan world, writing fanfic, attending conventions, blogging
fafiate - to quit one's involvement in fandom because of outside obligations
Hmmmm... "Fafiate" sounds like the British expression, "faff about." Also, faffs were strange beasties on the old Beany and Cecil puppet show prior to its becoming a cartoon show. The Wikipedia article fails to mention them.

I've already returned the book to the library, but it was fun to browse, as Z said. I bet your library has it, too.
