A poem a week
Shu had a wonderful idea to send our little granddaughter's father a poem a week to read to her. Shu, being Shu, has chosen some rare, but wonderful, ones. I am urging him to make a booklet of them for her to keep (right now he is only sending them via email). I'll try to post them for all of you, unless I can get him to.

Any suggestions from any of you would be happily considered. Shu is not choosing just kid poems; for example, one is from Lysistrata.

No poetry comes to mind, but here's a book I'd recommend: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...ince_and_Other_Tales

Lysistrata? Is he cock-sure she'll like it? Roll Eyes

It was just a part out of Lysistrata and being viewed as a feminist poem.

Although written as a comedy, it's quite easy to view it today as a feminist comedy. Perhaps some enterprising playwright will tweak it enough to do it as just that.

Lear's stiff might fit Shufitz' criterion. http://www.nonsenselit.org/Lear/ns/

Of course my favorites are AA Milne's, but Shu is getting much more rare than that.
