You're trying your spouse's patience by calling her a souse.

I will have to give in and just rhyme the stressed syllable. Normally I like to rhyme the whole word.

This is the easiest rhyme ever... just rhyme it with "bang" so why do I have only one entry?

Two now.

Let me offer some encouragement

An Englishman stuck in Xianyang
Said this game should go with a bang
Though the word may look strange
There's one hell of a range
Of rhymes (and one of them's "wang")

Sorry to take so long. Chaos still reigns chez moi, but I did finally send you something approximating a limerick - IF you assume that pre-pubescent boys can write them.

There's a name for the phenomenon where you come across an uncommon word, and then it pops up in your environment independently. (Shu, arnie - does that ring any bells?) I just finished Null States, by Malka Older, and there on Page 325 is Xianyang. And several times afterward, too. The Chinese aren't the bad guys, either.

[It's a techno-thriller, second in a series (so far, announced to be a trilogy. Book One is titled Infomacracy.) about an international society with a computerized election system supervised by a neutral third party ("Information") to ensure fairness, taken to its logical extreme. And how people try to exploit/subvert it to their own advantage...sound at all relevant? And written three years ago and more, at that!]

Bob - I sent you a limerick just a few days ago - have you received it?

Shall we put this one to bed?
