Mine is on the way! For those who haven't played this game before (Sattva) or have forgotten, just send Geoff a PM with a fake definition (we call it a daffynition). He will then post them all, along with the real definition, and we'll start guessing. The winner gets an all-paid two-week trip to Hawaii! Well, maybe not, but it's nice to win anyway!

Here are the daffynitions, and the real one:
1. A heraldic beast, half-serpent, half-goat.
2. A high-falutin' name for an A.A. Milne character (Pooh's gloomy friend)
3. An expression of reluctant agreement uttered by a down-east Maine native
4. Medieval harness worn by a farm animal to pull a plough.
5. The piece of a suit of armour that covers the shoulder.
6. A term used in falconry for a bird removed from the nest before fledging
7. Although, followers of The Dark Lord, Sauron, were reported to wear a symbol of a red eye on their helmets and shields (his true name was not suppose to be shown or spoken), true devotees of The Dark Lord had a tattoo called Eyass, which indicated what the tattoo represented and where the tattoo was placed.
8. An acronym meaning: existing, yet always strangely silent.
9. While technically not an island, but rather an atoll, this bit of uninhabited paradise is located in the north Pacific.
10. A simple tool that helps align the optical axes of the mirrors or lenses of a telescope.
11. A hydrous mineral that occurs in the boundary between volcanic and sedimentary rock
12. Old Welsh for a pregnant she-ass.
One of them's for real. Which one? No poll - just say which is the real one, and which is the best daffynition!

Maybe not. People are just busy right now with the holidays. I can't vote for my favorite yet since I know the winner. If I would vote, it would show that the one I voted for was not the winner. So, I will wait awhile before voting for my favorite.

I couldn't remember the term, "jesses," (see list of falconry terms above) and upon searching that list, picked "eyass." Why was I thinking of "jesses?"
