Our place for this round of the Limerick Game is Jamaica.

Extra points awarded to the risqué. Wink

Mine's in your box (though not all that risqué). One request: Let's take my limerick out of the running, okay? I would hate the perception of impropriety. Wink

Yeah, but Kalleh, what if yours is his fave?

I wouldn't have a problem with that...

I'm having trouble coming up for Jamaica! Inspiration comes slowly in such snowy weather...

Yes, we've had the snow, too...and 13 degree weather. It comes quickly, doesn't it?

I doubt mine would be Shu's fave anyway. So I guess I shouldn't care if I am out of the running or not...Shu, I am back in the running!

That was supposed to say I am having trouble coming up with rhymes for Jamaica!

We had 18 degrees here and that was cold enough. I hate winter!

Actually, I found so many good potential rhymes that I found it hard to choose and contemplated submitting more than one limerick...

Limericks submitted (listed alphabetically by author) by bethree, Richard English, Bob Hale (who says, “Not risqué but I like it,”) Kalleh, shufitz, Jerry Thomas, and Wordmatic. That includes my own – and of course, I had the insuperable advantage of choosing a word based on an idea of what I wanted to write.

Who gets to name the next word? It’s a tough choice. I liked Bob’s quite a bit, as a limerick, but ultimately my taste favors the less clean, so Richard is awarded the palm. (And no feelthy comments about “palm”.)
Now I betcha ya sure wanna taica,
Butcha can't bring her home ta Jamaica.
    When yer girl fin'lly gleans
    Yer talkin' Jamaica, Queens
She won't go to yer place tho yabaica

When he met her in Kingston, Jamaica
The Quaker swore not to forsake her.
    She succumbed to his whiles
    With sighs and with smiles
And that Quaker, the faker, did take her.

    A cartographer thought that he'd make a
New map of the world, that would take a
    Great deal of acclaim
    But it brought only shame
When he found out he'd left off Jamaica.

This guy told me, "Kalleh, let's take a
Great trip; we'll canoodle and make a
    Wonderful couple
    (Your breasts are so supple!)"
So...off to good times in Jamaica!

On vacation last month in Jamaica,
Did you meet a young gal? Did you take her
    For dining and dancing,
    With wine and romancing?
And more to the point: Did Jamaica?

While seeking a rhyme for Jamaica
I discovered there's no rhyme for Jamaica
    So I've come to explain
    What is painfully plain:
There ain't any rhymes for Jamaica.

All those breezes so warm in Jamaica,
    They could thaw out the ice in a glaciah;
    They'd allow me to strip
    To bikini or slip--
Here it's cold, so I'm dressed like a Quakah!

Excellent stuff! I'm glad the game seems to be taking off and I'm looking forward to Richard's selection of a place name.

Thank you for the accolade. My choice, eh? Well, I'll make it really easy and let you have my own home village - Partridge Green.

And here's my starter:

A fellow from near Partridge Green
Wrote limericks - few of them clean.
Not just to impress,
As he said, "I confess
The best ones are always obscene".

PMs to me with your own offerings.

Bob, this was a great idea. I am glad it's taking off, too. I'll get mine to you soon, Richard.
