A phirst grader's class assignment -- phind words with "ch" in the middle. Some we phound:
I offered "inchoate" but there was much protesting. Any others, less controversial?
PS: No compound phorms like "inched"
I suppose the "ch" isn't in the middle of peachy.
Leacherous (might not be that appropriate, though!)
It's a great pleasure to be able to tap into the collective talent here.
can you use the soft ch sound or the ch that sounds like k?
all the words with "tch" in them: hatchery, witchcraft/stitchcraft
and let's not forget "machine", -ery, machination
lichee nut (and Maraschino cherries)
plus a bunch of words related to the Italian:
gnocchi, Ponchieli, Pinocchio...
Achoo! (and that's nothing to sneeze at!)
bacchanal - I suppose this won't count since it doesn't have the "ch" sound.
Archaic arachnids, said Archibald archly.
How about autochthonous? But I guess you want it pronounced /tS/ not /x/ ~ /k/.
