I was at a meeting all this week and was very busy from morning to night. I have to admit, it was great not being able to listen to, or read, the news. Of course, I caught myself up today, with a delayed plane and all, and I feel so embarrassed. Heck, the Mexican president looks like more of a leader than ours does.

Any more daffies for "coffle?" I'll post them tomorrow, along with the real definitions. Remember, don't cheat and look up the word.

I ran across the word coffle in The Book of Negroes, a 2007 historical novel by the Canadian writer Lawrence Hill. It was titled Someone Knows My Name in the United States, Australia and New Zealand, according to Wikipedia. It's also as a CD and a downloadable audio book at my library. I just discovered a TV miniseries was made of it, and I've put a hold on it. I'll probably listen to the CD or audio book later. There are always words I'm not sure how to pronounce and it's nice to hear them read with, supposedly, their correct pronunciation and in an appropriate dialect. It's based on the historical document, Book of Negroes.

Here's the paragraph with the word coffle in it. Maybe that will pique your interest.
