I've let this go for a long time. I suspect most of you know the correct defintion - which surprises me - but I'll go ahead and post the daffynitions anyway.
1. A condition wherein the tibia exerts undue pressure on the fibula, resulting in pronation.

3. a geological feature of dry, arroyo-rich flatlands, consisting of a row of boulders and smaller rocks strewn together by flash floods.

5. A Portuguese sailor; originally a galley slave, but since extended to sailors in general.
6. Patagonian for "lariat."
7. What Indians call a pregnant elephant.
8. An antique musical instrument, similar to a clarinet, with ivory bands and ten brass keys.
9. A type of mud flow or debris flow composed of a slurry of pyroclastic material, rocky debris, and water.
A lahar in my leg put me flat on my face while climbing a lahar, a high Alpine valley, sending me tumbling down a lahar, or arroyo made by a flood, where I found a lahar (an Arabic gold piece) left by a Portuguese sailor (a lahar) who had been chasing a lahar, or pregnant Indian elephant, trying to lasso it with a lahar lariat from Patagonia when he was startled by the sound of a lahar, a clarinet-like musical instrument warning of a lahar, or flash flood, looming on the horizon. I then made a lahar adhesive from the blood on my wounds to hold the bandages tightly.
