THE POLL HAS BEEN RESET - THERE WAS ONLY ONE VOTE
IF YOU ALREADY VOTED FOR NUMBER 7 PLEASE VOTE AGAIN

1
It's depressing and smelly in Charleroi;
The Carolos are ugly and gnarly - boy
What a terrible place;
It's a global disgrace.
Just thinking of it makes me snarly - oy!

2
Back in her home town for Hanukkah
I got the tip from my Barbara,
"Don't say 'Char-le-roi'
And you'll go far m' boy,
Cause round here we call it Charleroi."

3
Oh, I know this old gal from Charleroi:
Her certain 'je ne sais quoi'
Gives men near her chubbies--
Even satisfied hubbies--
Asked the secret, she smiles & says, "Moi?"

4
I just came back from Charlerois
A jeunne fille did satisfy moi!
Her chatte, her bloblos,
Did bontemps expose:
And many a very hard bois.

5
In Belgium, the town, Charlerois,
Where singers have never sung ska,
They make lemon cheesecake
That's So good that I'll take
Several of 'em home to Cherlevoix*

*That's Charlevoix, Quebec, not Michigan, where they don't say it the French way.

6
I had planned on a trip to Charlerois,
But made quite a major faux-pas.
Lost my My Michelin Guide,
Then a very long ride
Left me parked by the Chateau de Blois!

7
A musician who played in Charlesoi
Sought to sing and to strum his guitar.
But his hearers insist
There are chords that he missed,
And his vocals are vexed by catarrh.

Question:
Pick your favourite.

Choices:
1
2
3
4
5
6
7

Perhaps you should reset the Poll Bob, and maybe you are missing a limerick - since 2 & 3 are the same limerick - unless of course 2 different people came up with exactly the same limerick??

This one was hard! I realize I do like at least fairly close rhymes.

Sadly the only attempt at rhyming cheesecake was in the B-rhyme position. Frown

What happened to the vote for number 7 that disappeared with the reset?

Maybe they changed their mind when they saw the previously unpublished No. 3?

Who wrote #3? Was it, as I suggested above, B35, or did someone steal her thunder?

What do the statues on Easter Island have to do with the question?

It's obvious you've won it, B35, so how about posting who wrote what, Bob?

Haha! I didn't know that word. I've enshrined it in my picture file: an Easter Island stature w/speech bubble ("...Moai?")

What? You're never heard the famous Easter Island Jazz Ensemble's song, "Stele by Starlight?"
