Mine's finally on the way. I had intended to send it much earlier, but by mistake sent it to the President after reading about Dick Cheny's telling him that two Brazilian soldiers were killed. Bush replied, "Gosh, Dick, that's too bed. Er, by the way, how big a number is a Brazillion?" Confused

okay, so I lied. It's Sunday, not Monday. But since I will be gone most of the day and evening tomorrow, I am posting the list now. Make your choices.

1. A restaurant employee whose job it is to clean tables, mop up spillages, &c.

2. A collection of ridiculous remarks or stupidities

3. A crystal vessel; cylindrical with a narrow neck and no handle; used for serving fine wines

4. An assemblage of strange or unusual tales, usually having to do with drinking and carousing.

5. Jocular nineteen-twenties coinage (after sommelier) for a waiter that continues to serve people who are clearly already inebriated.

6. a person gifted in handling drunk and unruly men

7. Archaic: one who parades insane or mentally disabled people before the public for entertainment.

8. the prompter in theatre productions of the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries (from Old French, from L. sotto voce, "spoken in a low voice or undertone, so as not to be overheard")

I'm going to disregard everything related to drink plus number 8's "sotto voce" (tempting though it is) as devious red herrings. That leaves only 2 and 7. So I think I'll try 7.

I like 8 too (he muttered under his breath) but I think I'll take #1 instead.

I'm sure it's NOT #7, since that one defines TV shows and politics, so I'll give someone (probably Hab) another point and pick #8.

Better watch out, Asa, because I had decided on 8, too...and I am always wrong. As I told Jo in a PM, if we were collecting points like we used to, I'd be outta here! Roll Eyes

Spelling theater "theatre" doesn't deflect you from this impression?

Guys, I am really sorry to do this to you, but...

The answer is Yes, you guessed it, #2!!! Arnie reigns supreme again, though boy did we fool you all.

Rex's father is dying and we have to leave within the next hour to drive all the way to Las Vegas. EEK... I'm looking at train prices to see about going via that route. Hence my premature posting of the correct answer and my not telling you whose was whose. Except that Hab was #8. He wins.

Bye all. Wish us luck.

So, Hab, did you create #8 as I thought? Mine was #7, written from my vast experience with asylums - from the inside. Roll Eyes

I cannot tell a lie. The -re was just to make it difficult.

Although I'm more concerned with Jo's need to get to Nevada in a hurry...

If you are going to post that sad face, post it for me! You, my dear, are a winner at this game. Razz
