Since the Bluffing Game is stalled and the Limerick Game is in limbo, may I suggest something else to do? How about tossing out a word, then punning it to pieces? I'll start with the word, shoes:

I knew a low-life couple once. He was a real heel; she was a vamp

Please continue this story, y'all!

Yes, and, being the heel that he was, he left quite a welt.

FYI, the Limerick Game is posted. I gave up waiting for someone to take over selecting the winner so I took Shu's limerick out of the running.

But then he laced her up, and slipped it inner ... ahh ... sole. He then untied her and threw her under the bed.

But she got him back when she stitched him up and got her straps out.

Somehow though they were quite a happy pair and cobbled together a good marriage.

This despite the fact that she had booted him out on more than one occasion. But he could always made her happy when he got his tongue out.

She took a shine to 90-proof shoe polish, and gave him a good waxing. "Now," he said, "I know what happens when eyelet her up.

I dropped in to see them once and was shocked to see them both answer the door wearing thongs*.

* This pun probably only works in Australia, where a thong, whilst also being known as another word for a G-String, is more commonly used to refer to a type of footwear most of you probably call "flip-flops".

They invited me in, but before long he asked her for sex, and although she had cold feet he still tried to slipper one.

Similar here, a thong is either a skimpy pair of underwear that leaves the derriere mostly exposed or a pair of flip-flops.

At least the heel and the vamp didn't flip-flop in their relationship. They probably didn't Converse about it much.

He got stuck after bending her over the counter and had to call Doc Martens to get him free.

They made an early version of an arc light?

Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.

An arcane reference.

How about giving us a new word to mistreat, arnie?
