We had a speaker today who kept using the word animateur. I looked it up tonight, and here is what I found:

Does it mean someone who talks with animation?

Does it mean someone who talks with animation?

As it has several meanings, we'd have to know what the context of the speaker's use.

Well, it was hard for me to figure out. He was talking about strategic initiatives and how people have to be invested in what they commit to. I will have to review my notes, I guess, because this doesn't tell you much, does it?

Maybe he meant mentor. That seems in line with the activity leader, coach, and presenter meanings. Why didn't somebody call him on it?

Like me? In retrospect, I should have. It was a presentation for our board, but we were welcome to chime in whenever. I am out of town right now, but when I am back I will check my notes.
