Panels 1 and 2 are enough!
http://www.gocomics.com/calvinandhobbes/2008/06/29/ "No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson. Read all about my travels around the world here. Read even more of my travel writing and poems on my weblog. My new blog - which I hope to keep more up to date than my old one. And don't miss this - my unpublished book, coming a chapter a week |

I have to say, when I saw the subject of this thread, I thought, "Oh, no. Not again!"

If a sculpture is great art (and some surely are) does it remain great art if it loses its arms (Venus di Milo). How about if it loses its head? And what if only its torso remains? And what if it is put into a crusher and spat out as marble chips?
When does it cease to become art? That might help us with a definition. Richard English |
