For the pagans among us, enjoy the shortest night of the year!

Umm - wasn't it the longest night of the year? Do you have traditions that you follow on that night? I got a lovely card from a friend about reflecting back on the year and looking with hope upon the future and all that.

The longest night of the year is more bearable now that our pubs can open for longer than they used to be allowed to.

Incidentally, in spite of the nonsense that made the media about "uncontrolled binge drinking", initial reports support my own contention, which was that there would be fewer, rather than more, alcohol-related problems.

This I have heard from both bar staff and the local police officers.

You? The newlywed? Sleeping all night long?

We STILL aren't married - although we do a lot of practicing being married. However, I'll confess to our bringing in the christian new year by watching the movie, "Million Dollar Baby." We shall be a bit more active on Chinese new year, and I won't mention what we did for Jewish new year. And I didn't mention what tired me out so much that I NEEDED to sleep all night long!
