Ditto! I enjoyed it. You English people really have odd pronunciations. Wink

Ah...Proof, you should talk. Those Northeasterns aren't much different from the Britons. Wink

Indeed you did... in the same way that my father once "improved" our house by painting one of the exterior walls bright red; paint that though faded, was still there when I tried to sell the place thirty five years later and couldn't be removed by any means known to science. That paint put off a good half of my potential buyers. (The other half believed me when I said they'd be able to remove it... I lied.)

Bob's story reminded me that my father had some paint left over from one job and didn't want to waste the remainder. He decided to paint many of the items ne felt needed touching up including a radio, a wind-up Victrola phonograph, and the toilet seat, for some unknown reason. Unfortunately, in those days paint took forever to get past the tacky state. That meant the radio and phonograph couldn't be tuned since your fingers stuck to the knobs, but even worse was being stuck to the seat on the throne.

Both your accounts are funny! Big Grin And they remind me of my mother who liked to carpet everything when she had leftover carpeting, from the bathroom floor (gross when you think about it) to the steps on our step stool. We have found the most interesting things carpeted!
