Yes. Whether the answers agree with yours is a different matter, though.

Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.

Answers please?

I just had to come up with some trivia questions about states for a virtual conference I am working on. Here are some of them (sorry, UKers, you won't be able to get these):

1. In 1888, which U.S. city had more millionaires per capita than anywhere else in the world?

2.There is a myth frequently found on the Internet is that it is illegal to tie your giraffe to a lamp pole in this city. Which city is this?

3. In which state was the ice cream sundae named?

4. Which is the largest state east of the Mississippi?

5. Which state has the only oyster museum in the world?

6. In which state do members of the General Assembly and all officers, before they enter upon executive of the duties of their respective offices shall take an oath :

I do further solemnly swear (or affirm) that since the adoption of the present Constitution, I, being a citizen of this State, have not fought a duel with deadly weapons within this State nor out of it, nor have I sent or accepted a challenge to fight a duel with deadly weapons, nor aided or assisted any person thus offending, so help me God.

7. More turkeys are raised in this state than in any other state in the U.S. Which state is this? [This one won't be hard]

8. From which state do most of our crab, salmon, halibut and herring come?

9. More land is farmed in this state than in any other. Which state is this?

I don't know most of the answers to Kalleh's questions except Florida has the most turkeys. Or do you mean fowl?

Here are the answers to the test I posted earlier.

2. At the bottom of the page.

3. Liquid.

10. You will never find an elephant that has one hand.

You're close - California!

My favorite (of mine) is #2 - it's Atlanta. I talked to someone there and he had checked their code and couldn't find it. But it is all over the Internet, apparently.

As for yours, Proof, I should have known!

I'd say the "no dueling" state was Kentucky.

As for Napoleon dying in battle, I didn't write the test, so I didn't check the accuracy.

As for "giraffes" law, sometimes those are just figments of imagination. For example, RI supposedly has a law prohibiting the purchase of a toothbrush at the same time you buy toothpaste. It was recently cited on a YouTube list, but I checked with the city and state ordinances, and then Snopes, and no such law was ever enacted.

Funny about the toothpaste law! The giraffe "supposed" law is from Atlanta. How did you know it was Kentucky about the duel???
