Interesting to note that it's pronounced "ah-ah"

When I was in Japan my girl friend pronounced Hawaii as "ha-wai," wheras I advised her it was acutally "ha-wa 'E'" with the glottal stop

Learning only later there are six different pronunciations considered ok
