Are we having a chat about the book today?

I am going out of town tomorrow and just had too much to do. Besides, I am not far enough in the book anyway. I plan to read it on the plane.

There was another chat on the book origianlly proposed for tonight. Is that goinf to take place? Has anyone but me finished reading it yet?

Bob, I had to pick up a rental car and couldn't join today. I haven't finished the book yet, but I am close, as is Shu.

Has anyone else read the book? CW? Saranita? I'd love to see some more discussion.

Nobody who's reading the book showed up. Erik dropped by for the first time to see if there was a chat going on and we talked for a while. He said he'll try to make it for the next regular scheduled chat, his work schedule permitting.

Strange, I showed up a little after 10 AM PDT and stayed until a little after 11 AM. Didn't see anybody. PST started this morning , so we're back in synch with Europa.

Yes, CST started here too, and I totally forgot. I was supposed to pick up a colleague early this morning as we were driving up to a conference. I was only an hour late!

Sorry, Bob. I find weekly chats a bit hard to attend, but maybe if I get into the routine it will work.

Well, I can't get the chat room to work on any of the computers to which I have access.

My second problem is that I just can't seem to get into the book. This could well be because I haven't had much time to read of late . . . but I'm not sure. I'll keep trying . . . I'm going to give it another 50 pages, but then I'll stop trying. He seems like an interesting character, but there is a lot of superfluous language that is keeping me from becoming involved. Does that make sense? It is just me, I suppose.
