I do think the word "meme" may be one of our 'words of the year' this year - as much as I hate them. I posted here in 2012 how the word had evolved. I think, given this election year, it has evolved a whole lot more. The very worst one I saw was probably the reason I left FB, at least for now. It was an ugly picture of Hillary with blood on her hands, referring to what some misinformed idiots think were her mistakes with Benghazi (Can you imagine whom I voted for? ).

In other words, a meme is just a stupid fad? I've never figured out what the term is supposed to mean despite reading definitions of it.

I do think this American election changed the definition of it a bit - it has more a negative connotation now.
