I found this video very entertaining, and it raises a very good question. What other euphemisms are we commonly using today?

I am of the opinion that much of language is euphemism and its opposite, dysphemism. Some words that used to be euphemisms are "dis-ease" and "enemy" (from "in-amicus").

I've never heard of "dysphemism" before. Indeed, it gets the squiggly red line when I post it. I actually thought the video was a little whitewashed. There are a lot of political dysphemisms out there too.

Ah, well. Let's put it this way; I didn't remember talking about it before. At any rate, I like the word. I can't say that I've ever heard anyone use it, though (in speech, and not writing...just to be clear).
