Lately it seems "reach out" has replaced "contact." Why? It makes me want to retch out.

I first noticed the use on TV detective dramas during the 80s. It seems to have been policespeak in NY for a while.

Lately it seems to describe Roy Moore's conduct with teenagers.

Funny, but in all this abuse furor nobody mentions Anita Hill or her abuser, Clarence Thomas. Is he now considered untouchable? Ummmm... maybe there's a better word than "untouchable."

Agreed, Geoff. And of course Bill Clinton. It does seem to cross political aisles. I suspect we'll hear about more in times to come.
