IANAD, but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't hear anything without your COCHLEA.

In another sense, study ALTHO LYMPH GOO.

One doesn't need an eye expert to see OPHTHALMOLOGY here. (I'd bet your belly-button you didn't mean TH' OMPHALOLOGY instead.)

But then I'm not really sure you need all these ELASTIC PIES, anyway. My own excepted, of course.

SPECIALTIES.

Like one who will AGONIZE over RICOTTA, perhaps?

There's the problem: I was looking for a medical specialty. My thinking needs another
CATEGORIZATION.

Next time I'll look through A TIGER LENS (or else process the data using E-INTEGRALS).

Ten days without a nibble -- time to move on.

We were talking about medical SPECIALTIES before, so I thought I'd trot out a GENERALIST.

If we wanted to find someone else to take his place, do you think we might LET IN A TUNE ?

Methinks the late ALISTAIR COOKE would have approved of "'E BAD, BONNY TWO"
(also two words)

Interesting. Alistair Cooke is remembered in Britain for his record long-running radio programme Letter from America but I doubt many of us know about his other radio or TV shows across the pond.

'E BAD, BONNY TWO

Did you mean "WE BAD, BONNY TWO"? With the second W it turns nicely into
"Downtown Abbey."

If so, all I can offer in return is to make two words out of three, and
SPIT AUSTRIAN SWORDS...
June 29, 2013, 08:07

It is, in fact, "Downton Abbey", so a second W isn't required.

EDWARDIAN

Fap. Here I was speculating that Edward and Ian were two of the characters... At Last I put it all together.

Do you think they might ever have had adaptations made for radio broadcast? Or would you suspect that, had they tried, an ERROR MIGHT DAMPen the audience's enthusism too much?

That must be the THIRD PROGRAMME, now known as BBC Radio 3.

The Rt Hon Baron Fellowes of West Stafford, the author of Downton Abbey, is a particularly annoying CRISP RIVETS PIT.

Hitchhiking? has she no DISCRETION? or was that some kind of DEER PUN?
July 14, 2013, 12:57
haberdasher
Actually, there's another anagram in the upper-right-drawer of my desk, which has my target in it, just for the asking.

But I"m at a loss for your DEER PUN. I can make up all kinds of word-sounding combinations, none of which seems right:
UPENDER
PENDURE and PENDEUR (didn't want to keep you hanging)
DEPRUNE
DEEPRUN (submarines do it, silently)
PRENUDE

They go downhill from there.

Maybe we both need to keep attacking the problems, only from a different direction.
