Happy Birthday to Wordcraft's Wordmatic!
We hope your big day was dramatic,
With presents and wishes
And pleasant food dishes,
And hopefully very ecstatic!

Happy Birthday to Wordcraft's official Birthday Announcer! I wish I knew how to attach those cute little birthday icons. Big Grin

Thanks, several days late, for all those birthday wishes! We were out of town visiting family and for a cousin's son's bar mitzvah. On my birthday, I was surrounded by my brother, his wife, sons, their wives and nine great nieces and nephews! Got lots of practice (for grandparenthood) holding the newest baby. What a hoot! Thanks again, and I have vowed to myself that I won't forget the May birthdays. Put 'em on your calendar: May 4, TrossL, and May 20, Duncan Howell.

Wordmatic,
Another year older, but unfortunately, no wiser.

It's the cuarto de Mayo today--
Meaning it's TrossL's own time to play!
Happy Birthday, our friend;
And we hope we can send
You some limericks to brighten the way!

Many happy returns, TrossL!

Whenever I think of TrossL rhymes, I always remember this one posted by Hic :
Forget about CJ, dear TrossL:

You kinda had to be there....

Anyway, happy birthday dear TrossL! I will RFA a few limericks for you in honor of it!

Birthday wishes come late now to Duncan:
Hope your Tuesday was bright as a pumpkin--
That you partied and such,
And were cheered much, much, much,
And closed out the day sorta drunken!

Happy Birthday two days late to Duncan Howell, with apologies for this gigantic memory lapse!

There once was a scoundrel named Jerry
Whose talent with people was very
engaging and fun,
our hearts were all won,
Tho' he's gone, hope his birthday is merry.

Wherever he is, I hope he's singing, dancing, and celebrating with lots of pretty women.

Happy Birthday to Sunflower Thursday;
That's yesterday, "I-must-have-fogged" day.
Let's hope you were kissed
And plastered with gifts
By Asa whose flower you are--hey!

Hope it was lovely!

Dear Sunflower, hope it was great...
That you opened your presents and ate
Some cake and ice cream,
And your day was a dream
And nothing but fun and first rate!

Happy Birthday, Sunflower!

If you don't mind, WM, I am going to give start the birthday wishes for CW because I always remember her birthday, since it's a day before mine.

Our dear little girl from Columbus,
Whose hilarity often can numb us,
Has a birthday today,
So let's all shout, "HOORAY!"
Cuz we love that this poster's among us!

Happy birtday! [Columbus could be our next limerick setting! Wink]

The specter of birthdays is such,
That most women don't like them so much!
But for Kalleh it's play,
And she welcomes this day,
'Cause she's YOUNGER, I say--what a touch!

Happy Birthday, Kalleh! I hope you have a wonderful day and that Shu takes you somewhere special!

What lovely wishes, I'm humbled,
so thank you I finally mumbled,
as I stay up late,
worrying over fate
and thinking my brains in a jumble. (just kidding, really, I'm doing fine - had a great weekend)

thanks, though, for the lovely poetry and birthday wishes . . .

now for Kalleh

Happy Birthday to my dear friend, Nancy,
my extempo' verse is quite chancey,
but I hope that your day
goes all quite your way,
and that your birthday party is fancy!

(Ah, I see you're not even at home! Nice touch on the flowers, Ken! Hope you are both doing well!)

Well, my, my. We have missed so many birthdays! So sorry.

Belatedly, happy birthday to Tinman, arnie, CJ (even though he no longer posts here, we all remember him!), zmj, Robert Arvanitis, and Richard. Are there others?

Arnie, I know you made this a sticky thread once, and then we asked you to make it a regular thread so that posts will bring it to the top. Now I am wondering if it should remain a sticky thread because it got lost on the bottom. Thoughts?

Happy Birthday to my dear darling daughter! Even though she doesn't post here, she's a huge logophile and often asks me to post a question. She's also the "family member" I've mentioned here, from time to time, who loves to "correct" my pronunciation. I put "correct" in quotes because maybe I have a different dialect. Wink

[Unfortunately I left her gift, which I bought in Portland when were were there, on the train today, and so far it hasn't been turned in. How can anyone be that stupid?]

Which is the stupid part:
To leave the gift
To buy it in Portland
To take the train
Or to turn it in?

Can you believe that someone would take a box wrapped in birthday paper, along with the card? I just find that hard to understand. However, that's apparently what happened.
