arnieA lovely thought
One of the blogs I follow is
Sentence First, subtitled
An Irishman's blog about the English language. Mostly. The most recent post is a recipe for
"Banana bread-cake". I'm not a keen cook, but the recipe looks wonderful. If anyone cares to try it, do let us know how it turns out.
What caught my eye, however was this paragraph:
quote:
The ingredient quantities are double the original quantities because I usually make two bread-cakes at a time: one for me and whoever is around, and one for some other person or household. Although this adds a few minutes to the baking time, on balance it wastes significantly less energy and allows more satisfaction to be distributed.

<Asa Lovejoy>A very good idea! Since my wife works for a grain mill, I'll see if she can get their staff to add his recipe to their website.

<Proofreader>My wife misread the recipe and we've got a whole bunch of bandana-bread.

<Asa Lovejoy>There are some ethnic neighborhoods where the right bandana would be popular. Just make sure you go to the right one.

<Proofreader>Considering my wife's cooking, if you eat her bandana bread it'll make a Crip out of you, or you'll pass Blood.
