Acrostic/anagram limerick
Here's one of my limericks from OEDILF

You'll notice a few things about it.
First of all it doen't make a whole lot of sense, especially line 5.

IT is an acrostic of ALICE though and more difficult it's a set of four anagrams line 1 is an anagram of line 2 is an anagram of line 5 is an anagram of lines 3 and 4 put together.

This took me hours to write.

Here's the challenge - for which full credit will of course be given - find me a line five that is a valid anagram, in anapest metre (or a reasonable approximation of it anyway) starting with the letter E that, unlike mine, makes some kind of sense (however meagre.)

And I have to say i don't expect anyone to be able to rise to this challenge given how long it took me to get this far.

Although Alice was crowned in her dreams —
Laughed “coo” when awhirl an’ cried streams,
I watch a dam shown
Cursed girl here alone.
Each rough land hailed war crown, it seems.

You know, Bob . . . when I find myself doing the kind of task you've done for this poem . . . I'm usually avoiding some other work I should be doing. Wink

(You know I'm just kidding you, right?)

I was just amazed by the creativity of this limerick of Bob's, and I have already given it my approval on OEDILF.

I know I can't meet Bob's challenge...but some of you anagramers are pretty good in wordplay. Give it a try? Hab? KHC? Jo? Arnie?

Bob, I don't understand what meaning your driving at with lines 3-4, so I've changed them too. Do forgive me.

Oh, I see. You wanted anagrams as well as an acrostic. Well, that shoots down my work above, as well as this addition:

Good luck, anyway, Hic, with the "flawless" and "Alice" rhymes on OEDILF! Wink

I did post a request for our anagram experts in wordplay to come here to see if they could help. However, they seemed to ignore me and continued with their anagraming. Roll Eyes

Nothing fancy ... just another Limerick ... or two

Did the Romans have a Latin name for Wales?
Did the Trojans have a Turkish name for Snails?
Did the sons of Ghengis Khan
Have another name for "john"
That survived Mongolian winter's icey gales?
. . .. ... ..... ........ ..... ... .. . .
Did Columbus know what "India" entails?
Did the whalers wrap their blubber up in bales?
Did the Stygians at the Styx
Use a vulgar word for pricks?
Does the Chinese Internet have a tendancy to get chop-su e-mails?

Wow! I didn't know Rudyard Kipling had written any limericks. And risqué ones, at that!
