GeoffSince there are about sixteen Romes in just the USA, can we simply end each line with a different Rome? I know Greg would say no, but he's not here, soooo...?
BTW, did the wolf in the story of the original Rome have a name? Did the expression, "sucking hind tit" come about as a result of Remus' subordinate position?
August 12, 2018, 19:33
BobHaleGeoff, if you can make a meaningful limerick about five different Romes, I say go for it.

August 12, 2018, 19:43
sattvaAhh, that word "meaningful". I can't make a meaningful limerick out of one Rome! I wrote some non-meaningful ones, though.

KallehAt a meeting, but I'll think and hopefully send one tomorrow.
August 15, 2018, 09:30
haberdasherI have several so far, and of good technical quality, but more is always merrier. Have at it, folks!
August 16, 2018, 02:25
BobHaleSent mine.

GeoffThill sinking. Err... Ill stinking... Oh, damn that Mr Spooner! I'll get one in eventually.
August 18, 2018, 12:05
haberdasherStill wanting entries from several regular contributors. You know who you are!
August 20, 2018, 20:03
KallehMine is in. I didn't think I was going to like it, but in the end I'd have to give it a B+, i think. It's not an A, though.

GeoffI did submit something. Ugh...
I've forgotten how to write these things. Senility has set in.

We make a great team, Geoff! You have forgotten and I still haven't learned. Some of the ones that get the most votes, I don't think are good and at other times, I agree that they are. I guess I am unable to assess their quality very well.

I'll tell you when the contest is completed. LOL
PS: It doesn't mean any of them are good!

KallehI hadn't expected Rome to be hard to rhyme.
Geoff, to answer your question, my limerick is in Hab's private messages.
August 22, 2018, 12:29
GeoffSpeaking of Rome, I recently watched a video rendering of Ken Follett's "The Pillars of The Earth." It depicted England when it was still under the religious control of Rome. If you like blood, gore, treachery, and a zillion plot twists, watch it. Great cast! If you read fifty times faster than I do, read the novel.

Lotsa choices!
I'd like to post these Saturday morning 8/25 or even Friday evening, so we can give them due consideration and vote over the weekend. Still missing one regular participant, though.

I'm still not receiving your posts, Hab, despite having repeatedly switched off the "hide posts" option. This is In - scrutable!

haberdasher...and bizarrely enough I just yesterday found your profile checked as blocked on my devices. Ineffable indeed...
August 23, 2018, 18:34
GeoffOnly my profile? How about if I face you?
This place has gremlins! Or maybe a golem?
August 24, 2018, 05:25
haberdasherI found my problem (and fixed it) on the Go To > Personal Zone > Ignore List screen, and working from there. Is that where you’ve been?
August 24, 2018, 16:03
GeoffYes. It doesn't seem to understand my requests to quit blocking you, hence the supernatural considerations.
August 24, 2018, 18:46
haberdasher¯\_(ツ)_/¯
August 24, 2018, 20:10
KallehI can't wait to see what rhymes everyone else used.
August 25, 2018, 09:50
haberdasherThe results are
here, and they make a nice tome. Vote early and often !
