Well, heck. You forgot my favorite of the three I wrote. So here it is:

My grandpa named Seymour from Seymour
Got glasses to see more and be more
Attentive to driving;
He's always conniving
To flee from the "home" to be free more.

I think the poll needs an edit - Kalleh's limerick is missing and 3 and 4 are the same

I just copied what Geoff had in the other thread. He'll have to edit that thread so I can do it again.

You can do it without waiting for Geoff, just replace No. 4 (a repeat of 3) and put Kalleh's one in its stead.

While you are at it I reckon the word "year" is missing from "80-old" in Limerick 5.

Sorry folks. I'm just too damned addle-pated to use this fancy technology.

I don't have the originals. Geoff must re-do the post and I'll copy it as he edit it.

I've done it. There was one vote showing when I edited the poll, so whoever that was will have to vote again as the poll was reset.

Thank you, arnie, for covering my idiocy.

Geoff, mine being missing was my fault and not yours. I am sorry about that. I had sent Geoff three different limericks in three different places, thus creating confusion. I usually only send one limerick for these games so I was new at that.

I scrolled past Kalleh's comment and addition, so I wasn't aware it was possible for me to change the poll. Thanks to Arnie for straightening it out.

Well, if I'm ever in a position to have to use a poll, I'll just let Audrey II eat me. (You have to have seen "Little Shop of Horrors" to understand)

How's about a few more votes? Let's give this one a run for its money.

It looks like #2 has won. Congratulations!

Geoff, can you tell us who wrote these? I know mine were 3, 5 and 7, and Shu wrote my personal favorite, which was #6.

What about the rest? Who won? Can we get on to the next game?

Mine was one of the zero votes getters in No. 4. Something tells me that No. 2 is the work of Proofreader or Bob Hale, both tending towards the blue side, and always with perfect rhyme and meter, and never failing to make you smile.

#1 was bethree5's
#2 was Bob's
#8 was Proofreader's

I'll let him know by email. I don't think he's able to check WC every day.

Very well. Good going, Bob!

I just learned, thanks to the tornado reports on the TV, that there's a town called Oolitic here in Indiana. Had I known, I would have chosen it instead of Seymour. "Eggrock" is a strange name for a town, but it's named for the oolitic limestone quarry nearby. It's where the stone for the Empire State Building in New York came from.

I hope there weren't any tornadoes near you, Geoff. Apparently there were 37 in the midwest today.

Cross-threading, the Isle of Portland is also well-known for oolitic limestone. It provided the stone for the UN building in New York, among other famous buildings, such as St Paul's Cathedral in London.
