This is so funny. It had been so long that I'd completely forgotten the limerick that I'd written. In fact, I thought it must have been left out. I found the one I liked, but then checked my PMs to make sure I wasn't selecting my own. Sure enough, Of the 8, I liked my own the best! Since it's my policy never to vote for my own, I've voted for my second favorite. So far, no one has chosen mine yet. Oh well, at least I liked it.

How do you know? You can't see the votes beforehand without giving up the vote.

Without enumerating my choice, the one I chose DID NOT REGISTER. I did NOT vote for eight, yet it is the only one with votes.

My screen shows (and this was the case last night, too) that #2 had one vote, #5 has one vote, and #8 has three votes.

OK, I'm now showing those votes and I assume one of them is mine.

Any more votes in the pipeline? Would have to be at least 2 to make it worth keeping the poll open. So I'm thinking I may as well call 5 the winner and we can move onto a new game. What thinketh thee?

As I wrote one of the others with a vote I say keep it open for a month or two!

I just noted that in the forum list it says, "Bluffing Game poll: Bonnie Doo" I've never considered doo as bonnie, but to a dung beatle, perhaps.

I was right, I DID vote for Bob's, but B35's was my next choice. I laughed at them both!

Our preferences are interesting. I don't mind fictitious names, or whatever, at all (obviously, since it was mine), but I have a hard time voting for limericks where you have to say them over and over before you can get the meter to work - though sometimes I must. That was my problem with many of these.

Actually I agree with you. I think meter is more important than rhyme, and I think the meter problem in most of these including my own, is largely my fault because of the choice of town, where the pronunciation of it doesn't really suit the limerick meter. I actually was surprised how difficult I found it to come up with anything I even remotely liked.
