Limerick Game: Blighty

BobHaleLimerick Game: Blighty
I recently wrote an email to some friends in the UK outling my plans to return for the summer. I referred to England as "Blighty".
It's a term from the days of the Empire that soldiers used to refer to England. So as that's where I'm going for the summer, that's the next place name - albeit a slightly unusual one. Apologies to the non-British who might find it hard to come up with ideas.

BobHaleAnd to get yous started and give you the rhyme, here's one I just dashed off
A soldier returning to Blighty
Was fearsome and stalwart and mighty
And randy as hell:
When he met with his belle,
It was off with her knickers and nightie.

I just wrote that one, too.

KallehI've been out of commission lately. I'll get one in.

KallehMine's in, and I'd vote for it if I could!

BobHaleIt's so long since I started this I'd forgotten it. I don't have enough to post yet though.
Please keep in mind that there is just over a week until I leave China for the summer and after that I'm unlikely to get round to it till September.
More limericks please.

Greg SNothing is happening for me on this one - I"m happy for you to publish no matter how few you have - I couldn't bear waiting until September for the next game.

Indeed. Without trying too hard I can come up with at least half a dozen perfect rhymes and several near-rhymes.

Greg SYeah I know it shouldn't be that hard at all, but my head's just not in the right place at this time. Three weeks into my first job in 3 years - albeit the lowest paying job I've ever had, but we grey people can't be too choosy. Still can't quite make ends meet, but it's better than having to sell our home.

BobHalePoll posted.
And here's another new one from me
The clergy are odd back in Blighty,
Where a bishop will wear a silk nightie
And the C of E vicars
All love frilly knickers
The archbishop? A nude Aphrodite.
