I am wondering what syllable is stressed. To me, it sounds like it would be the "Eff" part.

So, you wouldn't need to rhyme with "ham"?

I think, rather, that the "-ingham" needs to remain constant. Effingham - Jeffingham - chefingham - deafingham etc. Or else something quite clever. Not gonna be easy!

Won't that make it easier? Then you can use "fling'em" "ding' 'im," "sing''em," etc. I know you're up to it! I wrote one just to be sure. Being perennially confused, I can't remember whether I can submit it or not. What are the new/old rules?

BTW, note the "Anglo-Saxon Period heading for the article on the original Effingham in the UK. You'll find some alternate spellings to rhyme with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Effingham,_Surrey

Not really as the first syllable has to rhyme with “Eff” so that “neffing ‘em” would rhyme but “netting ‘em” or “nelling ‘em” wouldn’t (if, of course, any of those words actually existed.)

I sent in two, but they are not very good. It's the best I can do.

Got 'em! And another from Bob and Sattva. We're on a roll!

BTW, this nutty site is ignoring Bob's posts again! What's going on? I'm frustrated by my having to rescue his posts! HELLLLLLP!!!

I don’t recall anything that precludes the Limericker-in-Chief from including your own efforts. Does anyone?

There is no rule precluding the Limericker-in-Chief from sending in limericks. Send it in, Geoff.

I found this one hard.

Send it in to whom? To myself? Confused Kalleh, have Shufitz dictate one to you. I'll not post them until I get his.

I'm told that I'll have Shufitz's limerick by tomorrow night. Thanks, Kalleh!

Greg, where's yours? Git 'er done! Big Grin

I don’t see any reason not to enter one yourself providing you accept that you might win again and have to choose another place and run another game

I always submit one when I am in charge of a game. And, yes, I send it to myself so I don't forget it.

Shu sent one, by way of me. Wink

OK, I sent one to myself, and the whole shebang, sans author's names, to you so you can put them in a pawl, or pole, or pall, or pail - or whatever...
