arnieBluffing game: nyaff
Time for another game. I haven't hosted one for a while, so please let me have your PMs with your daffynitions of the word
nyaff. Remember, no cheating and looking it up!

KallehMine's on the way...and thanks for doing this.
April 22, 2010, 01:22
arnieKalleh's entry is the only one I've received so far. Come on everyone else! Get your thinking caps on and send me your daffynitions by PM!

April 23, 2010, 01:37
arnieI've had a sudden rush of submissions and now have about a dozen daffynitions all told (some people submitted more than one). A few regulars are still missing, though, so hurry if you've not yet entered!
I'll post the various entries for your delectation, plus the real definition, in 24 hours or so.

GeoffIt's a clumsy, cheap, nasty, sickly, subservient Scottish river sprite who lives in Tibet and contemplates the possibility of marsupial belly buttons.
I have a feeling it's 6, so I'll pick 12.

<Proofreader>I'll go with #11, which describes Wordcraft members.
Just kidding. Just kidding. I'm sorry it hit so close to home.
April 24, 2010, 20:46
KallehI'll pick 3, but there are some fun ones there! Between "weak and sickly," "clumsy" and "subservient," people don't find it a positive word, do they? As for #7? You've got to be kidding!
#11 goes along with the negative perception, but the "diminutive" part almost won me over.
Wordcrafters are clever!

BobHaleI'll give 15 a try.

stellaI like the sound of #1, thanks arnie.

MikeTo be honest, I'm more convinced by a couple of those that I sent in than I am by any of the others. But since I know that those are incorrect, I'm going to have to plump for one of the others. My guess is #4.

arnieHurry! Last call for guesses! One entrant has yet to choose, but you don't actually need to have entered - just post your choice below. I'll post the results tomorrow.

BobHaleYou can guess your own if you like. I have a couple of times. It can be a tactic to persuade others to join you.

<Proofreader>I got that right because I vividly recall my sainted old Scottish granny affectionately calling me a "nyaff." Oh, wait. No. She used to call me a worthless, bottom-feeding scumsucker. I suppose, then, it was just a lucky guess.
Does that mean I'm up?
