A suggestion to make this game a bit more challenging.

Why not amend the "rules" (OK, non-binding guidelines) such that:

1 - The seed letters must form a real 4-letter word, not just any arbitrary letter sequence.

2 - The new word for the next person has to have some connection with your entry for the old word. The connection can be as recondite, punny &/or far-fetched as the entrant wishes, but it would have to exist and be defensible if challenged.

I've noticed that many entries already adhere to the above, so I think they might be greeted positively by the participant pool.

Or, I might nudge the process with entries such as the following: Big Grin

SAND
Snore All Night Deafeningly
ZZZZ
====
BUYO
Button Up Your Overcoat
QJQJ

All in favor submit an entry for AYAY; all opposed submit a Spenserian sonnet in Sanskrit.

JUNK

In response to Froeschlein's suggestions:
  1. I think most people try for an actual word, and only use abbreviations and the like when they can't find one. There are not that many four-letter words!
  2. Similarly, most people already make some connection between one word and the next, even if it is rather tenuous and/or unlikely. However, sometimes I find I cannot easily come up with an obvious connection, and resort to looking around at papers on my desk in search of suitable four-letter words.
In short, I suggest we keep the status quo. Wink
