Thanks so much, Jo. We're all glad you're feeling better!

Hmmm, it sounds like a certain drug... Wink

Mine is on the way!

"Mine's in, too," Asa said stiffly.

That's your word: VIRGA

Why is VIAGRA so close to VIRAGO ? And why haven't the wisecrackers made anything of the similarity?

Anyway, mine's on the way. Net traffic permitting.

I have six daffynitions and the real one. I'm absolutely swamped with all the work on the quilts, but I will try to stay on top of this. Please send in any daffynitions you want; I will post the list sometime tomorrow -- Monday.

One might have expected the Travel Professionals to make much of Viagra Falls as a honeymoon destination location ...

Jerry, I thought "Viagra Falls" meant that it didn't work! It's caused by excessive use of Microsoft!

Well, I knew somehow that this word would generate some amusing responses. Here is your list of possible definitions. Please give me until next weekend to post the responses.

1. Slang term in some Latinate languages for a female virgin.

2. Spanish term for the discharge of gastric fluids during torture.

3. A roof timber; rafter.

4. Scientific name for snow or rain which evaporates before reaching the ground.

5. An acronym for the Virtually Irrecoverable Rosacea Gentleman's Association

6. An opera by Alessandro Scarlatti (1660-1725)

7. The scum that accumulates on the top of brewing vats in Budweiser breweries, lending the finished product its characteristic flavor and aroma.

8. The new bud of a tropical flower.

9. The fruit of a rare vine found in rain forests; said to be an aphrodesiac

No no no no, did I say 7? Just wishful thinking.

Let's try 8.

Oh, this is easy! It's the scum that accumulates on the buds of virgins in a Scarlatti opera about torture during snowstorms. Roll Eyes

Since it makes the least sense, I'll assume it's four. Well, actually, the Buttwiper beer one makes the least sense, but since I know nothing of beer...

I'll go with 4.

Since everything is eventually branded either carcinogenic or aphrodisiac, I'm playing it safe and voting for Number Nine.

As the abacus once said, "You can count on me!"

Or, quite likely, both. Wink

I'll go for 4.

Please forgive me for not tallying here who guessed what. I'm swamped with work on the Katrina quilts and preparing for a show. And getting a new web page up and running. http://www.shoshanaedwards.com -- More work than I ever imagined.

Well, you fooled me (or I should say CW did!) Mad

I had fun with mine, though I knew no one would choose it.

I remembered it from a newspaper quiz that only appeared a couple of weeks ago. I'd never heard of it before then.
