From Shu:

In honor of the holiday today, the new location for the limerick will be Valentine,a city in the desolate west part of Texas.

PM me with your limericks.

I take it then that the requirement for the A-Rhyme is to rhyme with "tine", so for example "line" would be a perfect rhyme?

Ogden Nash didn't think so...

You do realize, do you not, that he used to sell cars in Utah. The dealership was called Ogden Nash.

Yes, if it's perfect you're going for. Remember, we all have our criteria for limericks, and a "perfect rhyme" in my, or anyone else's, accent isn't a requirement. I like fun limericks and rhymes. On the other hand, you won't get my vote if the meter doesn't work. Each to his/her own.

I think it's a hard one, though Shu thinks it's easy. I have one more rhyme to go, and then I'll send myself a submission. Wink

I'd like this game to go a little faster than the last one, so please send me your submissions in the next week. I'll probably use the poll when posting them for Shu.

No submissions yet! Please send a few. I know it's not an easy word to rhyme, but - hey - you are all so good with limericks!

Yikes! I'll get something in but the going is tough

Still I have zero!

I think it's fine to use near-rhymes, if that's the problem. I'd vote for it!

Whenever I start to write one I get hung up on pig farmers. Confused I'll keep trying, though

Edit: Ok, OK, I sent you one, but it STINQUES!!!

I'll keep trying. Very trying...

Well I'll give it some thought but it's a toughie to rhyme properly

Bob, it is sooooo good to see you back! I'll be watching your Blog for news.

It is a hard one, that's for sure. I have three now. How's about a few more before I post them?

I need a few more, folks. For those of you who wrote one: It wasn't too bad, was it?

It was hell! Still trying to come up with a good one to replace the one I sent you.

With you Geoff - I didn't like mine, I am sure I wouldn't vote for it if somebody else wrote it, but I certainly wasn't going to attempt to write another.

I'm going to post these this weekend, so please get yours in soon. I know they're not easy to write.

Nobody seems very happy with theirs, but I have five now. I'll wait one more day, just in case there's a gem out there that hasn't been sent yet. Thanks!

Too busy to think about limericks. We've joined Haberdasher's elite club: People who've been dammed. The back porch is now a combined shower and swimming pool.

Oh no! Two of you? So sorry, Geoff.

I am going to post this one so we can move on to others.
