Limerick Game: Pinner
I'm currently in Harrow but let's go a little way down the road for the sake of a very easy rhyme.

The next location is Pinner. Rhyme it as you will.

"No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson.

Does it rhyme with "winner?"

yes

of course your winner isn't the same as my winner but that's ok

This one -- or any vvariation thereof -- cannot be used.

There once was a young man named Skinner
Who took a young lady to dinner.
They started to dine
At quarter to nine.
By quarter to ten it was inner.

The dinner, not Skinner.
Skinner was no beginner.
He was inner before dinner.

I have to ask why not because I already have what is essentially a variation of that from another contributer.
Not exactly that but of noticeable similarity.

Just joking. I'm sure there are many variations available on this venerable old-timer.

Well, it gives fresh meaning to the term, Skinner Box.

I'll get mine in tomorrow, Bob.

So is mine, and I like it. That means no one will vote for it. I've found my favorites don't get voted for, while the ones I consider mediocre get votes. Go figure.

Last call...

I'm home now. I have a substantial collection Pinner Limericks and will be posting them sometime tomorrow.

While in Pinner, Jeb went on a bender
Where a lady asked if he could lend her
A bob or a quid.
But he said if he did
He would need to make use of her gender.

Welcome back, Bob. I am looking forward to the "substantial collection." Wink

Though Proof banned the ones with it in 'er
We've entered our limericks for Pinner,
Now we're hangin' out Bob,
So get on with the job
And let us all vote for a winner?
