“Oops! Is this a mondegreen?” says Morgan
I imagine we can fine great mondegreens. smile
Here’s one perhaps not so fine, but from my personal experience. As a child I learned the Christmas song with this couplet:

Then peeled the bells more loud and deep,
"God is not dead nor doth.
[pause]
---He sleep."

With the pause and the alliteration, I heard "not dead nor doth" as a phrase, ending the sentence. I always wordered what it meant to be “doth”, and I thought that the sentence “He sleep” was bad grammar, even if necessary to make the rhyme work.

As a child listening to the radio (You do remember radio, don't you? It was like television, but the images were far superior)I heard the introduction to the Abbott and Costello comedy show (Yeah, they called it "show," even though it was a "tell") thusly: Here's Buttabbott and Lucas Tello.

Hic et ubique
"Here's Buttabbott and Lucas Tello."

I misheard a couplet in Invictus. (That's the poem that ends, I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul."}

written: "My head is bloody, but unbowed."
heard: "My head is -- bloody butt! -- unbowed."

A story circulated some fifty years ago about two gents sitting in a bar in Dallas, Texas, discussing current events. One commented that he'd heard that President Truman was raising taxes. At that remark a large and less-than-sober cowboy arose angrily from a nearby barstool and, with one vicious uppercut to the jaw, knocked the speaker out cold.

"What'd you do that for?" the victim's companion asked carefully. "All he said was that Truman was raisin' taxes." "Is that what he said?" mumbled the cowhand, flushing with embarrassement. "I though he said that Truman was raised in Texas!"

In shufitz style:

"Clown Control to Mao Tse-tung" by David Bowie

And we all know "Baking Carrot Biscuits" by Bachman-Turner Overdrive

How about "I'll Never Be Your Pizza Burger" by the Rolling Stones OR I prefered the Divine Miss M's version, myself
