BobHaleAnd who, exactly, is that for?
I received an email yesterday from the organiser of poetry event in my home city.
It said
quote:
My apologies to everyone but I’m afraid I’m having to cancel tonight’s poetry event at the Imperial Hotel as they cannot facilitate us tonight or any longer under the previous agreement.
I’m sorry for such short notice but I have only just been informed myself. I will be outside the hotel to explain to anyone who does not get this email in time.
I am wondering who the last sentence is meant for.

KallehI thought you were going to ask about the word "facilitate". I haven't seen "facilitate" used that way before. I'd use "accommodate."
I imagine he added that last sentence to ease the minds of readers who would worry about those who didn't get the email in time and would come to closed doors.
