zmježdtuckerization
This just got lobbed across the cubicle divide, I hadn't known of it before, and I thought I'd share it.
quote:
Tuckerization is the act of using a person's name in an original story as an in-joke [...] The term is derived from Wilson Tucker, a science fiction writer of the 1940s-1980s, who made a practice of using his friends' names for minor characters in his stories.
As the article goes on to say, it is related to
redshirting which is a term I was familiar with.

KallehI didn't know that meaning of
redshirting; I'd only known the sports meaning of it.
If the redshirted person doesn't die in the story (which the article said sometimes happens), then I am not sure how
redshirting and
tuckerization are different.
