Asa sent me this to post; he can't cut and paste.
A panel of
linguists has deemed "red state, blue state, purple state" the phrase that most colored the nation's lexicon in 2004.
I liked 'nerdvana' for collaborative 'geekiness' and 'pajamahadeen,' meaning bloggers who challenge and fact-check traditional media.

arnieNone of those phrases given in the article appear to have crossed the Pond yet, with the possible exception of "wardrobe malfunction" in articles making fun of all the fuss about Janet Jackson's extreme décolletage.
