evidently things are changing rather drastically with OED online, which should provide for some alarm new hope; viz., spotted just now under petulcous, from DRAFT REVISION Dec. 2007:

1997 Chronicle Short Story Reject #2 in austin.general (Usenet newsgroup) 20 July, The petulcous lowbrow with AIDS and the first-ever reported case of self-inflicted peotomy in front of a crowd.

I suppose he could be charged with indecent exposure for that, but he is unlikely to repeat the offence.
