The ancient Greeks had four separate words for different types of what we call “love”.

We have plenty of shades of meaning too - just not necessarily the same ones.
Affection, lust, infatuation, adoration, amourousness, adulation, amour, ardour, romance or even bromance for example. All related to love in varying degrees but with slightly different meanings.
