GeoffHow do you pronounce "Ghislaine?"
I hear this name often in radio and TV news of late, and nobody says it the same way. Although I know little French, I'm inclined to think the "Gh" part is like the "s" in "pleasure," the "is" is sounded like "ease," and "laine" "lain." How do you say it - assuming that you say it at all?

haberdasherI don't even know who she is, let alone how to pronounce it. Although as 'Enry 'Iggins said, "The French don't care what they do, actually, as long as they pronounce it properly!"

BobHaleGh as in thought
I as in receipt
S as in island
L as in walk
Ai as in aisle
N as in hymn
E as in time
It’s pronounced “I” as in “I know nothing about it”

BobHaleAs I was suggesting, it’s all silent except the “I” - often the way with these ego-driven
celebrities nonentities.
