It's incorrect, but there is a tendency for Graeco-Latin neuter nouns that take -a in the plural to become singulars in English. You see the same thing with Italian pasta names with plurals in -i. I'm sure the sticklers will bemoan it, but it doesn't bother me as much as "between you and I".

The office of the Data Protection Registrar here in the UK uses data as a plural. And they should know.
