Catfished
Until the ridiculous story from Notre Dame, I am thinking most people didn't know the word catfished. Am I right? It is a word meaning to pretend to be someone you're not by posting false online information, such as someone else's pictures, on social media sites, usually with the intention of getting someone to fall in love with you.

Guess Manti Te'o never cod spot an angler. Or a red herring, for that matter.

It's a plot even Salmon Rushdie couldn't conceive.

There are some great perspectives here, but have some of you heard of or used catfishing this way? Apparently it comes from a documentary that then turned into an MTV show. The show is about a young man who was tricked into falling for a fictitious young woman on Facebook. Link
