<Asa Lovejoy>Making a scene
Why is it that most people, when discussing a hypothetical situation, say, "...worst case scenario" instead of "worst case scene/ situation/ circumstance" etc? Do we really attribute disasters to the Italians? ;-)

KallehNo idea, Asa, but I had thought you were going to ask why we say "making a scene." I wonder about that, too.
I can think of a few scenes I have made in my lifetime.

arnieBecause that is one of the meanings of
scenario. From
Dictionary.com:
quote:
An outline or model of an expected or supposed sequence of events: “In the scenario posed by many climatologists, decades of continued global warming would raise sea levels anywhere from 20 inches to more than 11 feet” (San Francisco Chronicle).
