My colleague and I were at a conference where the speaker talked about a "verified storm." She clearly meant something more like "violent."

We were both confused as to what she meant and looked it up to see if it had another meaning. We couldn't find one. Do you think she just misused the word or is there some subtle meaning that we are missing?

Maybe she meant "veritable"?

I'm reminded of the movie, "O Brother Where Art Thou," wherein it is declared of someone, "He's bona fide." This has little to do with the question - it's just where my mind went when I read it.

Funny, Geoff. Wink

Maybe, arnie. But clearly "verified" isn't right, correct? Unless we are verifying whether or not is'a storm.
