disgorged
In the book I am reading, the author wrote about the bus disgorging it's passengers. Would you use it that way? I would only use it for liquids, as in the dictionary.com's "disgorging the wine from the sediment."

Of course, I probably wouldn't use the word much at all. How about you?

I might. Seems straightforwardly metaphorical to me.

I wouldn't raise an eyebrow at that use.

Nor would I; it seems a proper usage.

Interesting. Even when I looked it up, it seemed that it was mostly used with liquids. And I have only seen gorge used, never disgorge.
